Christmas Gift Guide: Foodies

Christmas Gift Guide: Foodies

Given the name of this blog I think you can tell I am a foodie - I love trying new things (particularly sweet treats) and Christmas is the perfect time to gift seasonal sweet treats! I have tried to include something for everyone in this gift guide so I am sure you'll find something for those you love - they also double as excellent stocking fillers!

Bonne Maman Advent Calendar

Although technically not a Christmas gift as receiving this on the 25th would not be ideal - I had to include it as it makes the perfect gift for yourself or as a nice surprise on the 1st for someone you love! The jams in this are amazing, the classic strawberry is a staple in my house but the additional flavours included in this include Apricot with Bergamot Spread, Orange with Cinnamon Marmalade and Pear with Cocoa nibs Spread - I cannot wait for the recipes I am going to create with these. The festive jams are going to be the perfect way to start cold, dark December mornings!

Craft Beer Box Set

Opening this box gave me such a wow factor, I knew I had to include it in this guide. The perfect gift for book lovers who also enjoy craft beer - the box design is incredible. Featuring 8 classic British ales there's sure to be one (or eight) that the recipient enjoys. I loved this so much that I've actually purchased an additional one as a Christmas gift!

Fireheart Coffee - Palace Blend

The classic Palace Blend from Fireheart Coffee is ideal for Christmas with tasting notes of dark chocolate, morello cherry and candied orange. It is one of my favourite coffees and is perfect both on its own or with milk for a latte. I'm going to be purchasing a bag for Christmas mo, imagine that first sip of coffee whilst opening your presents - bliss!

Healthier Comfort Food Book

There are people in the world who like to wing their recipes and there are people who like to measure everything. I am firmly in the second camp and weigh everything out (even when I'm creating them myself!). The Healthier Comfort Food book makes a perfect gift, we all know January and February are the worst months of the year and comfort food is required aplenty! There are so many amazing recipes in this book with everything from Candied Orange & Pistachio Choc-Dipper Biscotti (perfect for Christmas) to Chicken, Leek and Cheddar Crumble - there's even a fakeaway section! I've been trialling the recipes for a while and they are super easy to make and all of the nutritional value is provided!

Santas Favoruite Flapjacks

Hands down, these are the best flapjacks I've ever tasted. I don't have children but if I did I'd be purchasing a box to leave out for Father Christmas on Christmas Eve! Completely moreish, they're sure to be a hit with everyone this festive season.

Opies Fruits with Alcohol

Christmas is the perfect time for Fruit with Alcohol, these adorable jars are both delicious and giftable! The jars can be reused as tea light holders making them the gift that keeps on giving! I've tasted the Apricots with Dark Rum, Forest Fruits with Cassis and Black Cherries with Kirsh, adding them to breakfasts and pastries - they always go down well. Adding them to pastries makes the perfect dessert to gift to friends and family as they look like they've taken much more effort than required!

Opies even recommend making boozy ice cubes by mixing the syrup with a little water and freezing it into a cube tray, or combining it with gelatine and champagne for luxurious grown-up jellies!

These are available to pick up in your local Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Waitrose and Booths for just £6.50.

Traditional Melomakarona (Honey-syrup Biscuits)

I visited Santorini in the summer and fell in love with Greece food and this traditional melomakarona did not disappoint. They tasted like mini bites ofChristmas and I could not get enough, with flavours of orange, brandy, honey and walnuts, one was never enough! I had them as a treat with coffee for an afternoon pick me up but they'd also make a perfect Christmas morning treat! (a vegan option is also available here).

Devon Gin and Fudge Letterbox Gift

At £20.50 (plus 10% off if you order before December 1st) this letter box makes the perfect stocking filler or (as the name suggests) to send to those you won't get a chance to see this year. Trust me when I say this is much, much nicer than sending a supermarket card! The gin miniatures pair perfectly with the fudge which is just the right amount of creamy without the gin being overbearing - I loved it!

Manuka Direct Honey

Whilst this doesn't look like a Christmas gift it did arrive wrapped in cute Christmas paper and a bow! This honey is not only delicious it also has healing benefits - manuka is known to the Maori as ‘the healing honey’ and this genuine artisan quality Manuka honey is often called liquid gold. It has a strong earthy flavour and aroma - it's delicious on top of oats or mixed with hot water and lemon for a morning drink!

Niederegger Marzipan Santa and Star

This has to be the most festive looking gift in my guides - it is beautiful. Marzipan is a love or hate taste as it's such a prominent flavour but if you know someone who loves it it doesn't get any better than this!

I am sure you will have been able to find a gift for most people in your life here - who doesn't love Christmas treats? But if you haven't I have guides coming over the next food weeks for book lovers, pets, stocking fillers and home birds!
